Sunday night at payback was a great PPV. There were some great matches on the card that delivered and more so on the night. One of which was the second Sami Zayn match that could be up for Match of the Year – that man Is a genius. However the main event became a 30 minute example of everything good and bad with The Big Dog Roman Reigns.

The final piece of the Match
Every match in professional wrestling is different. Whether it’s the match stipulation or a new talent pairing or a giant swerve, a wrestling match can be a joy to behold and have even the most sceptical fans jumping around their front room (yes I do that occasionally). However each match will usually come to an end when one guy hits his finishing manoeuvre. There’s a wide variety of the history of wrestling of finishers and it’s somewhat of an art to getting the right one on the right character. A finisher can define a talent and take them to the higher level they sought after. Or it can devolve a character and be the reason the fans lose interest in them.
The lost art of tag team wrestling
Over the past 5 years the tag team division in WWE has been nothing short of dyer. A division that once boasted team such as The Dudley Boyz, The Hardy Boyz, The Road Warriors and Edge and Christian has become diluted and weakened by the lack of coherent teams and less that positive creative booking.
Booking the Bullet Club (part 2)
So we left the action with Doc and Anderson attacking AJ after it seemed as if they were here to screw Roman and help AJ –their former Bullet Club Leader. We re-join the action the next night no Raw. From this point on Roman Reigns is going to go off and defend the title against someone else (*cough* Dean Ambrose*cough*). AJ and the Bullet Club don’t need the title to make the feud amazing so it’s a waste to have it here.
Booking The Bullet Club (Part 1)
Monday night we saw the surprise debut of 2 men we all knew where on the way. Doc Gallows and “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson stormed the ring from the crowd and laid waste to Jimmy and Jey Uso after the Usos had won their first round match in the Tag Team tournament. Immediately I jumped out my seat as these guys looked like they mean business, and of all the debuts this last week, this one was for me the best. After decimating the Usos, they quickly backed off through the crowd and we were all left questioning their motives and why the Usos? I’ve seen people say that attacking the Usos is a precursor to former Bullet Club member AJ Styles winning the belt of Roman but I can’t see an AJ heel turn being anything other than counterproductive.
